SWINGING INTO 65
For many, turning 65 means winding down after a lifetime of work. But us, we’ve only just started jamming. They say if you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together. It’s absolutely true; we owe these last sixty-five years to none other than our network of driven, passionate clients standing alongside us. So, on Friday, November 4th, we combined our third annual client Open House with our 65th-anniversary celebration and took it back to where it all began: the year 1957.
Since opening our doors, we’ve always expressed the importance of maintaining close relationships with our clients. And to celebrate the era we opened our doors and welcomed guests into The Eola, a swinging jazz club, where we rolled out the red carpet and brought in the heavy brass… a live band, that is!
A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
Every detail of this special occasion, from drinks to decoration, was crafted with care. Signature period cocktails honoring the agency’s founders were served alongside specialty hors d’oeuvres and mouthwatering entrees. We even introduced a new-fangled publication—titled the Barrchive—a magazine featuring only the best in advertising: our take on what our clients’ ads might have looked like in the year 1957. Its Lürzer’s Archive-inspired pages were filled with period-accurate ads our creative team designed using inspiration from the midcentury.
This year’s event served as an opportunity for clients to strengthen their bonds with our team while getting an inside look at the agency as it was transformed into a moody and buzzing nightclub of yesteryear. Guests got all dolled up in their finest drapes to network while sipping chilled cocktails and enjoying some tasty tunes. As the night grew longer, some even kicked their shoes off and boogie-woogied on the dance floor—rumor has it there are even photos to prove it.
Special thanks to our clients, employees, and agency founder Pete Barr, Sr. for attending this year’s milestone event. We’re raising our champagne coupes and fedoras to you; we owe all 65 years of success to you!
